Sycamore Class
Hello and a very warm welcome to our Sycamore class page.
I'm excited to begin this new school year with such a fantastic group of learners. This year promises to be full of exciting challenges, new discoveries and lots of fun along the way! In Sycamore, we aim to foster our school learning behaviours: creativity, curiosity, resilience and integrity, along with a love of learning that will prepare the children for the next stage of their educational journey.
Our classroom is a place where everyone is valued, respected and encouraged to be the best they can be. We'll be exploring a wide range of topics across the curriculum, exploring creative projects and working together to build a strong, supportive learning community.
Please check this page regularly for updates, key dates and snapshots of our learning. I look forward to working in partnership with you so that every child can thrive and enjoy their time in Sycamore. Please do get in touch via the school office if you have any questions.
Here's to a brilliant year ahead!

Class Routines
The children are expected to organise themselves at the start of the school day ensuring they have all the necessary resources, reading books and water bottles ready for learning. They will have indoor PE on Tuesday and outdoor PE on Thursday. Please come to school in PE kit.
The children will 'seat swap' weekly which develops collaborative skills and provides an opportunity to work alongside, and get to know ,their peers.
They will take part in a group guided reading session once a week; reading and discussing a text with an adult.
Each week, one child will take home our class book review journal to complete a review of their favourite book - developing a love of reading and sharing recommendations to their friends.
